Expertise:  Jill Tingey conducted a countywide needs assessment and is sharing those results with Elko County residents and agencies.  She develops programs in the area of educating support systems for youth to prevent domestic violence and child abuse and neglect, community development and establishing relationships with other agencies and organizations in the area.

Programs:  Developing a program to educate support systems (schools, parents, youth organizations, law enforcement, etc.) for youth on the impacts of children and youth exposed to domestic violence.  Elko Area Leadership Institute leadership program, Education Committee Module Chair.

Expertise:  Kent McAdoo's areas of interest include rangeland revegetation, wildlife habitat enhancement, collaborative/holistic land management and proper functioning condition of riparian areas.

Programs:  Vegetation Management, Range Management School, Weed Identification and Management, Active Vegetation Management, Creeks and Communities, Nevada Youth Range Camp and Multiple Use of Rangelands.

Expertise:  During Marilyn's long term with the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension, she has served in a variety of roles working with youth and families. Most of her work has centered around adolescent development and programs for rural communities.  She is a prolific grant writer and with this funding to expand her Extension youth programs, she addresses high risk audiences with award winning programs she has developed. She is currently focused on working with low-income schools through the GearUp and S.T.E.M. programs. Participant results revealed increased interest in further education beyond high school with a S.T.E.M. focus.

Programs:  S.T.E.M., GearUp, 4-H Program Impact Assessment and Project MAGIC.

Expertise:  Steven works with UNCE faculty and staff to plan, implement, and evaluate community based 4-H Youth Development programs by recruiting, screening, and supporting volunteers to deliver researched based curricula and projects to Elko County youth.


Programs:  4-H Community Club Program, Elko County 4-H Officers (youth adult partnerships), educational clinics and events for youth and adults, Elko County 4-H Camp, and 4-H military partnership.
