Welcome to the Elko County Social Services Office. 

Elko County's goal is to eliminate homelessness through interim assistance and move low income individuals and families towards self-sufficiency and a better quality of life.

Our primary goal is to ensure that eligible applicants receive interim general medical assistance in a timely manner. 

Elko County Social Services does not have "emergency or immediate" help.  Eligibility for services must be established through the application process with an appointment.

Funding for the County programs comes from sales tax and ad valorem taxes (property taxes), as well as from various State and Federal Grants.

Our trained staff is available to assist you with any questions.  Through case management, we can direct and make referrals to other community agencies that provide services to needy families and individuals.
