VISITATION / COMMUNICATION

If your child has been detained,
you may communicate
with him/her in one of three ways:

Phone Calls:  A juvenile is allowed an initial phone call at the time of booking, and then may have a call every-other day. All phone calls will be placed to a parent of guardian only.  If you live outside of our local phone service, those calls will be made collect.  While detained, every juvenile has the opportunity to earn special privileges based on behaviors.  One of those privileges is daily phone calls.

Mailed Letters: All written correspondence must be sent through the postal service. Address mail to the juvenile at the Elko County Juvenile Detention Center 665 West Silver Street, Elko Nevada 89801.  Letters sent from other probationers will be rejected.  Detained juveniles are allowed to write letters several times a week, and receive mail daily.

Visitation:  Visitations are for parents or legal guardians only.  Those visiting are subject to search and should have a photo I.D. Special visits are scheduled upon need and should be referred to the Detention Director and/or Probation Officer.  Detained juveniles are allowed one visit a week during the times listed below.  These visits are for 30 minutes in durations.

Visiting Times:
Tuesday evenings between 7:00 p.m.and 9:00 p.m.
Sunday mornings between 8:00 a.m.and 10:00 a.m.
