 The Board of County Commissioners, County of Elko, State of Nevada, will meet in regular session on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. and Thursday, February 2, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in Suite 102 of the Nannini Administration Building, 540 Court Street, Elko, Nevada.  All times Pacific Time.

 Attached with this Notice is the Agenda for said meeting of the Board.

III. --  WIND TURBINE MINIMUM PARCEL SIZE REQUIREMENT:
Discussion and consideration of the minimum parcel lot size for tower mounted wind turbines and all other matters related, thereto.                                                FOR POSSIBLE ACTION

The County Commission approved an ordinance based upon the Elko County Planning Commission recommendation of one acre for the minimum parcel lot size for tower mounted wind turbines.  After additional requests for reconsideration from the public, the Commission directed staff to develop a revised ordinance with a two and one half acre minimum parcel lot size for tower mounted wind turbines.  Comments continue to be received and the Commission will review this issue and give direction to staff for a revised ordinance.

 
IV. -- NEVADA CONSOLIDATED SALES TAX:                        FOR POSSIBLE ACTION
Discussion and consideration of issues related to the Legislative Study Subcommittee to review the allocation of funds distributed from the Local Government Tax Distribution Account and all other matters related, thereto.

Assembly Bill 71 from the 2011 Legislative Session created an interim subcommittee to study the distribution formula to local governments of sales tax funds. Since these funds are a significant source of local government revenue, Elko County will follow the subcommittee’s work with interest.  The first meeting of the Subcommittee is February 1st in Las Vegas.

Discussion and consideration of Resolution # 01-2012 entitled Elimination of Elected Official Dependent Health Coverage Benefit and all other matters related, thereto.

For many years, Elko County has provided elected official dependant medical insurance at no additional premium cost.  If approved, future elected officials would not be offered this benefit.

Discussion and consideration of the status of potential Post Office closures in Elko County and all other matters, related, thereto.
