The Board of County Commissioners, County of Elko, State of Nevada, will meet in regular session on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in Suite 102 of the Nannini Administration Building, 540 Court Street, Elko, Nevada.  All times Pacific Time.

Attached with this Notice is the Agenda for said meeting of the Board.
This Notice is posted pursuant to N.R.S. 241 as amended by the 2011 Legislature.

 II. -- ELKO COUNTY JUVENILE PROBATION DEPARTMENT:
Discussion and consideration of authorization to use existing budgeted department funds to implement a drug and alcohol abuse prevention program such as the Wendover Against Intoxicated Teens (W.A.I.T.) Prevention Program in the Elko area and all other matters related, thereto.                                                                                                   FOR POSSIBLE ACTION

 

 III. --  ELKO COUNTY ECONOMIC DIVERSIFICATION AUTHORITY (ECEDA):

A. --     Discussion and consideration of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development new program - Moving Nevada Forward: A plan for Excellence in Economic Development that was announced this last week by the Governor and all other matters related, thereto.                                                                                                                         FOR POSSIBLE ACTION

B. --     Discussion and review of the recently completed marketing videos for the cities and County that are available on the ECEDA website and all other matters related, thereto.

 IV. --  STOFFER CREEK ROAD MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION:Discussion and consideration of a request to by residents of Lipparelli Estates Subdivision in the Spring Creek area to begin the process to form a local road maintenance district or a general road improvement district to provide road maintenance services in the subdivision and all other matters related, thereto.                                                        FOR POSSIBLE ACTION

 

 V. -- ELKO COUNTY NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT ADVISORY
        
COMMISSION (NRMAC):                                                         FOR POSSIBLE ACTION
Discussion and consideration of an appointment of a representative to fill a vacancy on NRMAC and all other matters related, thereto.

 

 VI. --  ELKO COUNTY FAIR BOARD:                                           FOR POSSIBLE ACTION
Discussion and consideration of an appointment of representatives to fill vacancies on the Elko County Fair Board and all other matters related, thereto.

 

 VII. --  NEVADA CONSOLIDATED SALES TAX:                        FOR POSSIBLE ACTION
Discussion and consideration of issues related to the Legislative Study Subcommittee to review the allocation of funds distributed from the Local Government Tax Distribution Account and all other matters related, thereto.

Assembly Bill 71 from the 2011 Legislative Session created an interim subcommittee to study the distribution formula to local governments of sales tax funds. Since these funds are a significant source of local government revenue, Elko County will follow the subcommittee’s work with interest.

 

 VIII. -- US DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR – BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT:
           
Greater Sage-Grouse Interim Management Policies and Procedures Instruction
           
Memorandum (IM) No. 2012-043                                         FOR POSSIBLE ACTION

Discussion and consideration of issues related to the Greater Sage-Grouse Interim Management Policies and Procedures IM including impacts to public lands management processes and operations including the upcoming Public Meeting being held at the Elko Convention Center on March 3, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. and all other matters related, thereto.

 

 IX. --  USFS MOUNTAIN CITY, RUBY MOUNTAINS AND JARBIDGE DISTRICT
          
TRAVEL MANAGEMENT PROJECT:                                FOR POSSIBLE ACTION
Discussion and consideration of issues regarding the Mountain City, Ruby Mountains and Jarbidge District Travel Management Project FEIS/ROD including the status of a future Congressional Hearing that may have participation from Counties from and around the Western United States and all other matters related, thereto.

 

 X. -- ELKO COUNTY WATER RESOURCE ISSUES:               FOR POSSIBLE ACTION
Discussion and consideration of water resource management and water rights issues that may impact Elko County including possible discussion related to the Southern Nevada Water Authority pipeline project and the Central Nevada Regional Water Authority activities and issues and all other matters related, thereto.
