Proposed Enhanced 911 Surcharge

The Elko County Board of Commissioners has been asked to implement an Enhanced 911 surcharge on all (landline and cellular) phones in Elko County.  The surcharge would cover the costs of equipment and software upgrades to an Enhanced 911 system and would be twenty-five cents for each landline and cell phone per month and a two dollar and fifty cents charge per month for trunk lines.  The charges would appear on your month bills from the various carriers.  Enhanced 911 would allow our local emergency agencies to better locate the site of an emergency more efficiently and accurately.

A public hearing to receive comments will be held at the
Elko County Board of Commissioners meeting on:

Thursday, April 7, 2016

1:30 p.m. (Pacific Time)
