COVID-19 Information: District Court Judges Al Kacin, Kriston Hill and Mason Simons at the request of Nevada Supreme Court Chief Justice Kristina Pickering, have announced new district court procedures that are effective immediately and will continue until further notification. These new procedures are designed to reduce exposure of the public and county employees to coronavirus. We appreciate the patience and understanding of those people who need to have their legal issues resolved as we all try to weather this pandemic.
Fourth Judicial District Court Administrative Order
The Honorable Alvin R. Kacin has spent the last 10 years on the bench in both limited and general jurisdiction courts. In addition to his District Court caseload, Judge Kacin presides over the Fourth Judicial District's Juvenile Court and Adult Court Program. Judge Kacin previously served as an Elko County Deputy District Attorney prosecuting felony, gross misdemeanor, and misdemeanor criminal cases, and has also worked in general private practice. Judge Kacin is a graduate of Gonzaga university School of Law and serves on the Nevada Board of Bar Examiners and several Nevada Supreme Court committees.
